4 Homemade Hair Masks For Quick Growth

Forget all those chemical products that you have used on your hair so far but couldn’t get the results that you’ve wanted. You can prepare the following masks at your home from natural materials!

Potato Mask

I’m sure there is a beautiful aspect that you have never heard so far; potatoes have amazing benefits for your hair. The lack of vitamins A, B and C cause your hair to lose its shine, moisture and make it prone to breakage. But the vitamins (especially A, B and C) and minerals inside the potatoes not only make your hair softer but also stronger. They are also a natural colorant and therefore used in most fabrics and hair dyes. That’s why potatoes can get rid of your white hairs and even turn them into their natural color.


  • 5 potatoes
  • Water
  • Cheesecloth


  1. Wash and peel the potatoes.
  2. Slice them into small pieces and puree in your blender.
  3. If its consistency becomes too thick you can dilute it by adding water.
  4. Place the potato puree in a clean cheesecloth to drain its water into a container.

How To Use?

  1. Gently apply the drained water by slowly massaging to the bottom of your hair.
  2. Pour the remaining water to your hair tips.
  3. Leave your hair like this for 20 to 25 minutes. If you wish you can also use a bonnet in this stage.
  4. Then rinse your hair with warm water.
  5. You can apply this natural mask to your hair once or twice a week.

Rice Water Mask

There is a substance called inositol in the rice that can repair damaged hair and protect it against future damages. The amino acids in the inositol and rice can strengthen the hair follicles, give your hair more volume, shine and allow it to grow healthier.


  • 1 cup of rice
  • 3 cups of water


  1. After thoroughly washing the rice, put it into a deep saucepan and pour 3 cups of water.
  2. Boil for 15 minutes to make sure that the rice releases its minerals into the water.
  3. Filter the rice into a different container. Leave this juice for 2 days at room temperature until fermentation starts.
  4. After 2 days, boil it again and then let it cool down. If you wish you can add aromatic oils like lavender oil to give it a pleasant smell.

How To Use?

  1. You can apply this mask by gently massaging to your hair roots twice a week.
  2. Leave it on your hair for half an hour after applying and rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Egg Mask

Castor oil is one of the most used oils in hair care. The reason is that the castor oil is rich in vitamin E, various minerals, omega 6 and triglycerides. These substances are known for their positive effects on the strengthening of the hair follicles and the overall health of the scalp. Also, let’s not forget to mention that the castor oil shows antibacterial properties. And eggs are vitamin A, D, E and protein-rich nutrients and just like castor oil they can moisturize the hair and strengthen the hair follicles.


  • 2 tablespoons of castor oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of honey


  1. Put all ingredients in the same mixing bowl and be sure to mix all of them together until the mixture becomes homogeneous.

How To Use?

  1. Apply by gently massaging to your hair roots then spread the remaining mixture thoroughly to all of your hair.
  2. Wear a bonnet and leave your hair like this for about 3 to 4 hours.
  3. And rinse your hair with warm water.

You can apply this mask twice a week.

Carrot Mask

Carrots moisturize the scalp and with its beta-carotene content, repair the skin and protect your hair from sun damage. As it contains vitamin C and E, it makes your hair stronger by increasing the blood circulation in the scalp and promotes new hair growth. Carrots also prevent premature whitening of the hair and with the antioxidants and vitamins, it can decrease hair loss with regular use.


  • 2 carrots
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups of water
  • 1 teaspoon olive or almond oil


  1. Boil the water and grate the carrots into a bowl.
  2. When the water starts to boil add grated carrots.
  3. Boil for 20 minutes and leave it to steep.
  4. Filter the carrot pieces after the water becomes lukewarm.
  5. Beat the egg with oil and add it to the lukewarm water.

How To Use?

  1. Transfer the mask into a suitable glass bottle and shake it before using.
  2. First, apply the mask to your hair roots and scalp by gently massaging for 5 minutes.
  3. Then apply the remaining mask to your entire hair.
  4. Wrap your hair with a bonnet and leave it like that for about 1-1,5 hours.
  5. Then shampoo and rinse your hair.

You should apply this mask once a week. Also if you’re planning to use it for long periods of time, you should leave 2 weeks off for every 6 weeks of use.
